For more than 118 years, Backus Hospital has been the primary source of healthcare services for much of Eastern Connecticut. We are home to the only trauma center in New London and Windham counties, and are the only area hospital with LIFE STAR helicopter services. We deliver and coordinate a continuum of high-quality healthcare with the goal of improving the health of our communities.

JOB SUMMARY Responsible for managing designated operational unit to ensure superior customer service and patient care in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner. Oversees day to day operational activities supporting the business realm of designated practice. Collaborates with nursing and medical clinical leadership to facilitate clinical operations. Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare management or a related field, or equivalent experience; advanced clinical or business credentials Experience:

Minimum 5 years medical practice management experience required

Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills

Experience providing effective business leadership in healthcare setting •

Strong human resource management skills •

Proficiency in computer software applications (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with -EPIC useful •

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail, accuracy and follow-through •

Ability to travel independently •

Ability to adhere to policies and standards of service as well as HIPPA requirements, OSHA regulations and Infection Control standards •

Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff, physicians, patients, and referring offices •

Displays courtesy and helpfulness when interacting with all internal and external customers •

Ability to promote a team atmosphere of trust and professionalism •

Ability to show strong personal initiative and take ownership over work results •

Understands the business and responds to all related issues, concerns and problems •

Ability to go above and beyond to achieve goals and flexibility to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities •

Ability to complete training activities as required
