Job DetailsJob LocationMessiah Lifeways - Mechanicsburg, PAPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$16.00 - $18.00 HourlyJob ShiftNightJob CategoryHealth CareDescriptionJob Summary:Give various care assistance and related basic hygiene assistance to Enhanced Living residents.Job Standards:Follow/adhere to the Code of ConductFollow/adhere to organization, federal/state regulations and guidelines, including Resident RightsMaintain neatness, cleanliness, good personal hygiene, and a well-groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of the departmentPerform duties of job without posing a threat to the health and safety of themselves or othersMaintain sound mental and physical health and strengthMust be free of communicable diseasesExhibit the Core Values of Messiah LifewaysFollow team standards of the NeighborhoodAssume accountability for compliance with federal, state and local regulations within the assigned duties and within his or her span of controlWill assume responsibility to ensure secure handling of information, and will adhere to HIPAA Privacy and Security standardsRecognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization and attend training to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI workCarry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assignedLook for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organizationJob Duties/Responsibilities:Assist residents with personal hygiene when such assistance is neededEncourage and support residents to be as independent as possible in performance of activities of daily livingPerform tasks related to personal hygiene and physical comfort of residents as required or requestedAnswer call bells timely and respond appropriately to the residents' needsCommunicate and take direction from Charge Nurse and/or Enhanced Living Director of Nursing for medical issues and medicationsTransfer residents from bed to chair, etc., with personnel assistance as necessaryReport changes in residents' physical condition, mental status, and appetites to Charge NurseTake meal trays to residents who require this serviceHelp to orient new residents to the NeighborhoodActively participates in orientation and training of new team membersProperly use and care for neighborhood supplies and equipment in a cost effective mannerKeep work area neat and cleanReport needed repairs and equipment failure to the Neighborhood Mentor, Charge Nurse or EL Neighborhood ManagerUtilize safety devices and follow safety precautionsAware of, and works within, the guidelines of the Residents Bill of RightsAttend Support Plan Meetings as requested by the EL Neighborhood Manager and offer feedback to update RASPs as necessaryFollow emergency procedures and respond rapidly and appropriately to emergencies ensuring the safety of the residents and team membersDocument proficiently in PCC/POC all services provided to residents during his/her shiftFollow proper procedures and promotes safe work practices in order to maintain a safe working environmentConfidentiality regarding resident information must be maintained in strict confidence, as well as other information pertaining to the business of Messiah LifewaysWillingness to assist with covering parts of shifts and/or different shifts as necessary during staffing concerns as part of the teamWillingness to engage with residents as part of the Person Centered Community Minded philosophy to include one on one visits or activities as time allowsComplete training through Relias in a timely manner and attend meetings and other trainings as requiredFollow policies and procedures regarding scheduling (i.e. calling-off, requesting time off, per diem requirements, etc.)Additional duties and tasks as assigned by the EL Neighborhood ManagerQualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:Sincere desire to work with older adultsMust have a sense of responsibility, moral integrity, good judgment, alertness and skill in recognizing and identifying symptoms and dealing with behavioral problemsWork cooperatively and productively with others, including residents, families, the neighborhood mentor and other team membersWillingness to work under direction and supervisionEducation/Experience:High School Diploma, GED diploma recognized by the Department of Education or active registry status on the Pennsylvania nurse aide registry18 years of age or olderPrefer Nursing Assistant training and meets requirements to maintain registrationFormal training or previous hospital, nursing home or personal care home experience preferredSuccessful completion of DHS competency exam during training
