We are headquartered in Rhode Island, with additional facilities in Indiana and California.** **Job Function:** Responsibilities include purchasing of production materials, supplier pricing negotiations, inventory management, supplier document/data collection and other purchasing related responsibilities. Has responsibility for maintaining supplier relationships, identifying new suppliers and staying current on all industry news/knowledge. Must manage suppliers and spend for all Bradford production sites to meet specific annual cost reduction targets. Assist or lead other special projects or activities as needed. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:** * Responsible for raw material purchases to support production in all Bradford production sites * Manage materials pricing and order quantity to drive cost reductions while minimizing inventory risk * Drive suppliers to accept optimum order quantities to minimize inventory days on all items * Continue to identify new suppliers to have second source for all top items * Continually manage materials orders with suppliers to pull in or push out as needed to maximize production availability while minimizing inventory holding * Responsible for obtaining and managing all supplier information including MSDS/SDS, spec sheets, certifications and other required/requested supplier information * Work with Production Planning to ensure materials are available as needed for production * Assist in maintenance and management of all service contracts including contract terms, expiration, termination notice requirements, auto renew features and other critical information * Assist in negotiations and place POs for service contracts * Assist in ordering and tracking of customer supplied materials * Assist as needed in material returns process * Lead special projects as assigned **Working Relationships:** **Internal:** - Work with Planning Personnel to ensure material is available for production as needed - Work closely with Sales/NPD on pricing and new product launches - Work with Operations Personnel on bulk delivery schedules and material packaging - Warehouse, Accounting, Lab, Marketing and other department personnel as needed **External** : - Suppliers of inventory materials - Service providers for Bradford - Suppliers of parts, tooling and equipment - Customers on customer supplied materials **Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** * Bachelor degree in Business or Science discipline * 5

10 years experience in Purchasing * Capable of functioning with little supervision and directed by broad guidelines * Good judgment and decision-making skills * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Capable of some flexibility in work hours * Experience in Oracle preferred * Must be computer literature (MS Word, Excel, Etc.) * Must be a team player and will need an excellent work ethic * Must be a self-starter with exceptional organizational and communication skills * Must have a roll-up your sleeves attitude **Working Conditions:** - Office environment - Some exposure to warehouse environment - Some exposure to operational environment At Bradford, we are always looking to add people to our team who share our core values: * Customer Focused
