COMET Technologies USA is the headquarters as well as an important sales, distribution and service hub for the COMET Group. From this modern facility, we provide our innovative COMET X-ray and ebeam source technology and portable X-ray systems to leading manufacturers, research labs and government sites within North and South America.

**Summary:**

The Corporate Facilities and Safety Manager will engage leaders and employees across the organization in a way that improves the Companys performance by promoting a safety-first culture, reducing the risk of safety incidents through training and sound work practices, and providing tools and systems that deliver improved performance. This position is also responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing aspects of facility life safety systems, grounds upkeep services, security, and utilities programs. He/she will also champion and/or lead projects that will drive improvement in key environmental, health, safety, and facilities key performance indicators (KPIs).

**Essential Duties/Responsibilities:**

* Provide strategic direction and leadership to handle and oversee building operations (repairs and maintenance, HVAC, janitorial, etc.) and closely liaise with facilities services of the Companys sites (reception, mail, occupancy planning, etc.).

* Align and collaborate with service vendors in the delivery of facilities operations and integrated solutions.

* Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, parking lots, warehouse, and operations.

* Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.

* Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals and issuing employee badges.

* Ability to plan, organize and manage building operational services; develop, implement, and evaluate a variety of building and operation systems and preventative maintenance programs

* Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating, tracking and/or completing maintenance orders pursuant to a ticketing system.

* Preparing facilities for Covid protocol and post-Covid return to office

* Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.

* Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions.

* Ensuring that employees and managers are consistently working in a safe manner; developing and implementing safety programs to reduce accidents and injuries

* Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with safe workplace programs, policies and procedures that enhance incident prevention and compliance with company, local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

* Conduct or coordinate effective training for all employees in areas such as safe-workplace policies, practices, laws and regulations, hazardous condition monitoring and use of safety equipment.

* Perform, document, and track monthly safety and environmental audits and findings.

* Review and report findings from incident investigations, facility inspections or environmental testing.

**Required Skills/Proficiencies:**

* 5+ years of facilities and safety experience

* Ability to operate a motor vehicle on behalf of the company

* Strong understanding of compliance related to safety, including OSHA and workers compensation

* Strong knowledge of building systems, design, and mechanicals

* Strong advocate for safety and demonstrate safety leadership with words and actions

* Ability to communicate effectively with partners at all levels, especially senior leadership

* Experience managing cross functional projects with many internal stakeholders

* Ability to solicit buy-in from key stakeholders spread across locations nationally

* Ability to think critically and present solutions to complex situations

* Ability to synthesize diverse ideas, facts, and data into a cohesive analysis that includes problem statement, solution hypotheses, and robust data analysis to support recommendations

* In-depth Excel and PowerPoint knowledge

* Ability to act as a flexible and innovative team player with a roll-up-the-sleeves attitude and a hands-on approach

* Ability to manage time effectively and be focused on setting and executing clear objectives and priorities

* Commitment to excellence and high standards

* Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within changing priorities with enthusiasm

* Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

* Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

**Location: San Jose, California (Travel approx. 15%)**
