Position Overview:

The Dietitian performs nutritional assessments on patients and works with medical team to prescribe and monitor care plans for nutritional needs.

What you'll do:

  • Serve as a department representative as part of the hospital clinical team
  • Adherence to all local, state and federal safety and sanitation codes
  • Menu development and implementation
  • Work directly with patients to explain diets/supplements in response to diagnosis
  • Provide recommendations for enteral and parenteral nutrition support
  • Assess patients for malnutrition and develop nutrition interventions and care plans to address identified nutrition diagnoses
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) using food service management software
  • Offer inpatient nutritional counseling
  • Is flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities, not noted above.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Dietitian
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 1 year of experience in an acute care setting

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting of 50 #. Standing for long periods of time. Working in an environment that includes a wide range of temperatures including production areas and walk-in coolers/freezers.

Travel Requirements:

  • Onsite - Cayuga Medical Center - 101 Dates Drive Ithaca NY 14850
  • Shift - Days - As Scheduled

Pay Range Disclosure

  • $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
