Our team of doctors and technicians work, 7:30a.m. - 4:00p.m. No Saturdays or Sundays. Our culture values work life balance and promotes a positive and collaborative work environment. We provide compassion care funds, so no animal is turned away. And CE credit is $2000 the first year and that is only the beginning.

SPCA Florida is seeking a veterinary surgeon who values patient care, leadership, and thrives in a positive collaborative environment. Primary responsibilities include spay/neuter surgeries for public animals along with community / backyard cats. Candidates should skillfully perform or are willing to learn surgeries such as amputations, pyometra surgeries, eye enucleations, and minor soft tissue procedures. Candidates must have a commitment to the mission of the organization and possess a willingness to assist the teams in other departments / areas of the hospital.

Doctors and nurses are supported with modern technology and equipment that includes the latest in-house lab and diagnostics, high speed dental equipment, digital and dental radiology, laser therapy and ultrasound. Every doctor is assisted by positive, skilled, and knowledgeable technicians to assist with blood work, x-rays, and medications.

Our growing community is a great place to call home. We are less than an hour away from the beaches, Tampa International Airport, and Orlando with endless activities, parks, lakes, and trails to explore.

Qualifications

  • Small animal veterinary experience
  • DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited veterinary school.
  • Active, non-restricted state veterinary license
  • DEA license or ability to obtain.
  • Positive leadership
  • Professional yet friendly service with clients
  • Team spirit and collaborative attitude
  • Possess good surgical skills and able to sustain a heavy surgical schedule.
  • Able to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to work/ assist in the occasional emergency surgery.
  • Willing to assist in other departments / areas of the hospital.
  • Committed to the mission of the organization and the goal of saving animals.
