We are seeking a motivated, skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our clients team on a direct hire basis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will perform mechanical design, development, and evaluation of vehicle, assemblies, systems, and processes from concept through production stage, and make modifications as needed. Additionally, this client will offer relocation assistance for the right candidate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and update documentation for designs, including mechanical layout, part and assembly drawings, analysis, evaluation, prototype build and testing throughout all phases of the project.
  • Directs preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing products or processes.
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication.
  • Establishes priorities for work delegated to others.
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations.
  • Provide directions to junior engineers and designers.
  • Coordinate engineering efforts with procurement, manufacturing, product management, systems engineering and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
  • Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.

Education and Experience Requirement:

  • Engineer with 5+ years of career experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable engineering discipline is required
  • Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems.
  • Ability to apply design theory and methodology, and assist in determining and developing requirements from specifications, oral instructions or preliminary sketches.
  • Ability to perform mechanical design using Inventor or similar MCAD tools.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
