RN Supervisor

Primary purpose is to direct nursing care to the residents, and to supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and the Certified Nursing Assistances. Such supervision must be in accordance with the current federal, state guidelines and CMS regulations that govern The Caring House, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times. Responsible for ensuring that all clinical tasks are fulfilled on a timely basis.
Critical Tasks:
- Ensures that the personnel providing direct care to the residents are providing such care in accordance with the resident's care plan and wishes.
- Ensures that patients and residents are comfortable and well cared for
- Ensures exceptional and very highly responsive nursing care for all residents through personal actions and through all actions by staff members for whom this position holder supervises.
- Responds rapidly to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Notifies the Director of Nursing, the Administrator, the resident's physicians, and/or legal guardian when there is an incident involving the resident and or a change in the resident's condition.
- Observes nursing care and visits residents to ensure that nursing care is carried out as directed and treatment is administered in accordance with physician instructions.
- Assists in the admission and discharge process of residents as required.
- Assists the Director of Nursing and or the Infection Preventionist in identifying, evaluating and classifying routine and job-related functions to ensure that the risks in critical events such as rapid responses and emergency alerts, or emergent infection matters are managed according to critical element pathways. If needed, identify and report such events to governmental and regulatory authorities.
- Orders or directs ordering of drugs, solutions, and equipment, and maintains records on narcotics.
- Investigates and resolves complaints or refers unusual problems to superior.
- Demonstrates ability to regularly change priorities to accomplish all tasks despite frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrates ability to clearly communicate, both orally and in writing, while performing all essential functions
- Performs other special projects and duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse program from a university or college; Bachelors' Degree preferred.
- Registered Nurse Licensure in AZ or qualified Compact Licensure
- 2 years of experience in nursing and/or long-term care management
- Current and continuing BLS training and certifications
- Current State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
