Job Description:

General Description: Under limited supervision, responsible for professional level accounting activities in support of OU Health.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintains financial statements and records monthly operations for OU Health.
  • Responsible for the supervision of the Data Control Operator.
  • Sets up procedure codes and balance patient data.
  • Gathers and reports operating statistics.
  • Maintains database of assets.
  • Prepares depreciation entries.
  • Completes annual Medicare cost report workpapers.
  • Assists the Finance leadership with other projects as assigned which may include audits, research and reconciliations.
  • Assists with training and orienting staff new to the department.
  • Assists with audits performed by outside firms.
  • Works with staff in other departments to coordinate related task or to help with educating staff.
General Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field

Experience: 2 or more years of professional level accounting experience required. 4 or more years of accounting experience preferred.

OR an equivalent combination of education and experience

License(s)/Certification(s)/Registration(s) Required: None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and regulations. Good verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills to include spreadsheets, databases and accounting software. Ability to effectively discuss accounting issues with individuals who do not have an accounting or finance background. Skill in prioritizing tasks and meeting critical deadliness. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Skill in supervising the work of others.
