About Us: Carbon Ridge (CR) is a United States-based developer of carbon capture & storage solutions (CCS) for the Maritime industry. Onboard Carbon Capture (OCC) provides a low-cost and near-term solution to significantly reduce the intensity of carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (GHGs) onboard large maritime vessels.

Job Summary: We are seeking a full-time naval architect and Marine Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will need a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Maritime or Offshore industry, with at least one project involving structural modifications for a vessel. This person needs to know Class Societies' rules and Regulatory compliance for the project to be installed on a ship.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regulatory compliance verification (Flag and Class Society rules) for the project and ensure that the project meets the requirements.
  • Perform design review of ship modification, including changes to the General Arrangement, Fire and Safety Plan, and Structural DWG.
  • Design and prepare engineering reports and documents to be submitted to the yard and class society.
  • Evaluate design loads and accelerations for the modified structure.
  • Assist with the structural, piping, and equipment material specification, as well as necessary certifications required to be installed in a maritime vessel.
  • Assist with stability analysis for the ship modification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering or related Engineering specialty from an accredited college or university.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in the Maritime and/or Offshore Industry.
  • Have worked with Class Societies in the past (ABS, DNV, BV, LR).
  • Have had at least 1 project delivered and installed onboard a maritime vessel (e.g., Bulk Carriers, Ro-Ros, Container Ships) regarding structural modification.
  • Familiar with ATEX requirements.

  • This position will report to the Lead Marine Engineer.
  • This position is equivalent to a Mid-Senior level Engineer.
