Job Summary The Senior Onshore Revenue Accountant role is to ensure that all production, revenues, and post-production expenses are recorded accurately and timely, and in accordance with marketing, lease, and other governing agreements. The successful candidate will oversee the revenue accounting processes associated with operated US onshore properties, mainly located in Texas, address onshore owner and partner inquiries, and perform month-end revenue activities related to US onshore assets. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to learn quickly, make process improvements, and maintain a solid control environment. This individual should be professional and respectful of others, and demonstrate strong work ethic, accountability, and judgement. This person should also be able to thrive in a team environment as well as focus on individual tasks. Although the role doesn't have direct control over the daily operations of the department or project, the individual is strongly encouraged to propose beneficial changes to the team and other departments to achieve better outcomes. This role will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote. Responsibilities Manage oil, gas, brine, and NGL revenue transactions for US onshore and ensure proper allocation back to wells. Validate and explain distributions to partners, overriding and royalty owners that are outliers in checkwrite analysis. Record month-end cycle journal entries and craft variance commentaries for monthly, quarterly, and YTD comparisons. Process prior period adjustments in reasonable timeline after receiving substantive revised information. Provide account reconciliation research. Perform revenue payment void procedures at request of Land or Corporate Accounting. Research owner inquiries that are related to US onshore revenues. Work on audit and owner litigation/settlement supports as needed. Understand midstream contracts including sales pricing, deficiencies, transportation, processing arrangements, etc. Ensure all accounting is in accordance with SOX compliance. Utilize technology to drive process improvements and efficiencies. Qualifications/Requirements Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Minimum 7 years in E&P or midstream accounting experience with at least 4 years' experience in E&P revenue accounting. Familiar with owner inquiry research. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong attention to details. Good communication and interpersonal skills. The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Desired/Preferred Qualifications SAP system experience with focus in PRA module. Demonstrate continual improvement and team mindsets. Affinity to technologies, such as Power Automate and Power BI, to help on deliverables. Allegro or equivalent marketing system experience. Solid understanding of marketing and commercial contracts.
