As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will assess and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders. Your role is crucial in helping students improve their communication skills, enhancing their academic performance and social interactions.

- Assessment: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students' speech and language abilities.

- Treatment Plans: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings.

- Direct Therapy: Provide direct speech and language therapy to students using evidence-based practices.

- Collaboration: Work with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to integrate therapy goals into students' educational programs.

- Progress Monitoring: Track and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

- Education and Support: Educate students, families, and school staff on strategies to improve communication skills.

- Meetings: Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings.

Requirements

- Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

- Licensure: Valid Illinois state license or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.

- Experience: Experience in a school setting is preferred.

- Skills: Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools and intervention strategies.
