**Description**

Vertex Aerospace is currently seeking a highly qualified Procurement Specialist 2 to join our Supply Chain Department in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing proposals for long term agreements, creating Basic Order Agreements (BOAs), new Scope of Work (SOW) sourcing, procurement folder development in accordance with Compliance and negotiating part and component costs with supplier agreements, delivery and terms and conditions. This position will create purchasing plans including preferred suppliers for all components and finished goods to be presented to management and program office, build and optimize the supplier base to suit needs and align with in-house capabilities and act as a work leader and thought leader to train new employees.

**Job Responsibilities**

* Sources, negotiates and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, packaging materials, parts, services and/or supplies necessary for the operations of an aerospace organization.

* Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives.

* Monitors performance of suppliers.

* Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions.

* Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and market dynamics.

* Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet required schedules.

* Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends and maintains necessary records.

* Prepares Request for Proposals (RFP), Request for Quotes (RFQ) and bid packages.

* Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.

* Other projects and initiatives as assigned.

**Qualifications**

* Bachelors Degree and a minimum of two (2) years of directly related government, industrial or aerospace purchasing or subcontracting experience, OR Associate Degree with a minimum of six (6) years of directly related government, industrial or aerospace purchasing or subcontracting experience, OR completion of high school or equivalent and a minimum of ten (10) years of directly related government, industrial or aerospace purchasing or subcontracting experience.

* Must have experience with preparing RFQs/RFPs, review and negotiate terms and conditions, make best value source selection decisions to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability and ability to meet schedule requirements.

* Experience must include bid solicitation and supplier selection based upon best value analysis with a federal contractor.

* Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.

* Some travel will be required.

* Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.

* Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, being able to present financial information clearly and succinctly.

* Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance

* Excellent communications skills with the ability to exchange information and interface effectively with suppliers are required.

* Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a public trust position (if required for the position).

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (if required for the position).

* Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.

**Desirable Qualifications**

* Working knowledge of Supply Chain and Material Management processes.

* Proficiency with FAR requirements and U.S. Government subcontracting

* Proficiency with SAP software to report and place purchase orders and plans

* Experience in establishing strategic relationships with key suppliers who provide materials and services to the US Navy, Air Force, or government customers and are aligned to the Companys needs

* Forecasting and planning experience related to US Navy, Air Force, or other government program requirements
