Main Duties & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer will be responsiblefor process design and development concurrent to new product development.Additionally, this position will support and lead manufacturing start-upoperations that include; plant build-out, process development and optimizationof flow, machinery & equipment acquisition, manufacturing layout,continuous improvement and other duties associated with engineering support ofproduction to ensure Rieke attains best in class manufacturing operations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Works closely with design in developing design for manufacture and assembly optimized concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques to achieve low cost designs that meet customer goals.
- New product development requirements will include participation in cross functional product development teams
- Process design and development and fabrication of new equipment, work instruction generation and validation.
- Supporting design development efforts to ensure an effective transition to production.
- Support manufacturing operations in the areas of process development, tool design, machine programming, machinery & equipment acquisition, manufacturing layout, and continuous improvement.
- Provide direction and technical support in identifying continuous improvements to manufacturing operations and implementing new technologies including development of processes, researching current and emerging technologies and evaluating process quality, cost, capacity and capability alternatives.
- Responsible for all aspects of development, documentation, and support of the manufacturing process from conceptualization through production sustaining activities.
- Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related degree
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in advanced manufacturing process design and development
- Lean or Six Sigma experience
- Technical background in injection molding and/or high speed assembly is desirable
- Experience with developing and implementing successful solutions for complex manufacturing processes
- Experience in an ISO 9001, Food Grade/Pharma GMPs,
- Project and process management
- Process design and development
- Involvement in New Plant Start-ups is preferred
- Experience working with State and local officials obtaining grants, abatements, etc. is desirable
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- May require up to 30% travel
