Warehouse Material Handler ahhDescription of Tasks and Responsibilities:The Warehouse Material Handler, reporting directly to the Warehouse Supervisor, is directly responsible for providing warehouse and material handling support by:1. Safely loads, unloads, and transfers product to designated areas as instructed and trained.2. Inspects product for part number and description deficiencies or damages prior to receiving and shipping, recording all product discrepancies on appropriate paperwork and notifying appropriate person of any issues.3. Maneuvers heavy materials with the use of forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as required.4. Unloads and loads shipping trucks as required.5. Operates tape machine and tape gun to seal boxes; uses basic tools, pneumatic drills, and banding tools for palletized shipments.6. Secures product to shipping skids and builds protective crates as required.7. Packages ground and LTL shipments to prevent damage, utilizing proper packaging material.8. Uses computer to process shipping and receiving transactions.9. Pull and stage materials for shop orders.10. Maintains a neat and orderly workplace to include sweeping, compacting cardboard, moving pallets, and removing and disposing of debris by following lean principles of 5S.Job Description Warehouse Material Handler Page 2 of 411. Completes assigned jobs accurately in a safe and timely manner in accordance with work order instructions,meeting Company, customer and production standards and expectations.12. Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations.13. Participates in additional activities contributing to the overall goals of the company as the opportunities arise.Description of other duties that may be assigned:The Warehouse Material Handler will assist production team with assembly, painting and/or other miscellaneous support tasks on a rotating basis or when additional help is requested. The Warehouse Material Handler will also assist with general building and grounds maintenance and repair.An individual in this position must be able to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities listed above. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.Math Ability:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Warehouse and material handling experience in the fluid power industry and/or manufacturing setting. FedEx and UPS software experience. LTL and BOL experience.
