# Position Summary:

This role will support design development of civil (sitework/earthwork/drainage) engineering designs for the project site by preparing studies, drawings, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. They will also work with other engineers/designers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.

This role will be based in Knoxville, TN with periodic business travel, as required

# Responsibilities:

+ Originate and check civil/sitework/earthwork deliverables of high complexity, including specifications, drawings, reports and calculations.

+ Interpret and verify industry standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.

+ Report design quantities compared to estimated quantities.

+ Participate in project design/model reviews.

+ Participate in constructability reviews.

+ Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.

+ Execute schedule requirements while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product.

+ Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in executing work as an integrated team.

# Basic Qualifications:

+ BS degree in Engineering (Civil/Structural or related), from an accredited university, with at least 6 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, 12 years of professional experience.

+ Registered Professional Engineer or able to obtain within 12 months

+ This role requires a facility-specific clearance that requires U.S. Citizenship

+ Must be able to complete and pre-employment drug screen and background check.

# Minimum Qualifications:

+ Work experience should emphasize the civil / site design of heavy industrial-type facilities. Must be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.

+ Familiar with the provisions of AASHTHO, ASTM, ACI, ASTM, FHWA, MUTCD and WBDG UFC codes.

+ Familiar with the methods of procurement and control of bulk materials.

+ Ability to independently execute the detailed design drawings of civil/ / site systems of high complexity.

+ Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings and specifications.

+ Ability to express technical issues in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.

+ Ability to resolve design issues with subordinates, other engineering disciplines, construction, and the client.

+ Ability to issue a clear and concise direction to subordinate designers and drafters.

# Preferred Qualifications:

+ MS degree in Civil or related Engineering, from an accredited university.

+ Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000 and/or NQA-1.

+ Experience with the use or knowledge of MicroStation and Civil3D

+ Construction field experience.
