The City of Geneva is accepting applications for the position of Rescue Director for the Geneva Rescue Squad. Basic Definition/Class Characteristics: This is the senior supervisory level in the Rescue Department. Responsible for directing day to day functions of the department, training staff, performs varied professional and administrative tasks for the department; and performs paramedic activities of a shift or company or station if needed. Functions as the Medical Supervisor /Manager for multiple casualty incidents. Provides information for patient billing functions and performs collection services for delinquent accounts. Position will be considered as employee's primary employment in terms of being able to accept outside employment. Minimum Qualifications: Equivalent of two years of college and completion of an approved program in Advanced Life Support, and four years of experience in a State of Alabama Licensed "Advanced Emergency Medical Ambulance Service". Must have a current paramedic certification and be in good standing with "National Registry Paramedic" with emphasis in business management. Preferred certified EMS instructor 1 and AMLS instructor licensed with the ADPH, ACLS, PASL. Other Requirements: Must possess a valid Alabama driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record. Must work an administrative shift Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Must be willing to work shifts as structured in the EMS department and accept a regular ambulance assignment on an as need basis. Must possess strength and stamina sufficient to lift and carry equipment and patients weighing up to 150 pounds.
