The 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) oversees theapplication of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a schoolsetting. The School RN provides servicesin accordance with District and Amergis Healthcares philosophy, standards,policies and physician orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement and evaluatestudents care needs

+ Demonstrates on each assignment the provision of skillnursing care in accordance with prescribed orders/IHP

+ Performs interventions, treatments and medications administrationaccording to the identified priorities as outlined in the IHP

+ Monitors and documents effectiveness of interventions,treatments and medications

+ Completes documentation per district expectations

+ Coordinates and facilitates services as requested betweenthe school, local health agencies and other community resources to meet theneeds of the student

+ Communicates with the school district personnel aboutstudents plan of care/IHP

+ Notifies District School Nurse/Parent/Physician as outlinedin the IHP regarding the following: changes in condition of student and Physician notification to obtainnecessary orders

+ Collaborates with school/education personnel/other healthagencies as requested to design and meet students health care needs

+ Evaluates and assures student safety at all times

+ Adheres to Amergis Healthcare and school districtpolicies

+ Maintains accuracy in student health record

+ Adheres to district protocol and policy at all times

+ At request of school district participates in student careconference / Individualized Education Program (IEP)

+ Supports student medical needs during transport asapplicable

Minimum Requirements:

+ Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

+ One year of school nursing experience, preferred

+ Pediatric experience, preferred

+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice

+ Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable

+ Current CPR if applicable

+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

+ Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site

+ Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements

+ Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required

+ Computer proficiency required

+ Must be at least 18 years of age
