As a Dosimetrist, you will play a crucial role in the radiation therapy treatment planning process. Your expertise in calculating and delivering precise radiation doses to cancer patients will contribute to the overall success of our radiation oncology department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and has a passion for providing high-quality patient care.Responsibilities:1. Radiation Treatment Planning: Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to develop optimal treatment plans for cancer patients based on prescribed radiation doses, tumor volumes, and critical structures.2. Dosimetry Calculations: Utilize advanced computer software and imaging techniques to calculate radiation dose distributions, ensuring accurate and effective treatment delivery while minimizing potential side effects.3. Treatment Simulation: Assist in the simulation process by accurately outlining treatment fields and determining patient positioning for treatment delivery. Collaborate with the radiation therapy team to ensure patient comfort and safety during simulation procedures.4. Quality Assurance: Perform quality assurance checks on treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with departmental protocols and standards. Monitor treatment parameters and adjust plans as needed during treatment.5. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of treatment plans, calculations, and patient data in accordance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.6. Equipment and Technology: Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiation therapy equipment and treatment planning techniques. Collaborate with medical physicists and vendors to optimize equipment performance and troubleshoot technical issues when necessary.7. Team Collaboration: Work closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective coordination and delivery of patient care.Hybrid schedule: This position will be covering clinic in both the Riverview location and the South Tampa location with the option for partial remote work after on-boarding.This Dosimetrist position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality radiation therapy services and join a growing Radiation Oncology practice in Tampa, Florida. Education: Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or a related field. Certification by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) is required.2. Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Dosimetrist in a radiation therapy department. Experience with treatment planning systems and familiarity with various radiation therapy modalities (e.g., external beam, brachytherapy) is preferred.3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in treatment planning software (e.g., Eclipse, MIM, and Aria), imaging study (e.g., CT, MRI, PET), and dose calculation algorithms. Knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulations.4. Analytical Abilities: Strong mathematical and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex treatment parameters and dose distributions. Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations and documentation.5. Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide patient education and support.6. Professionalism: Strong ethical standards and adherence to patient confidentiality.
