Many of our ingredients end up in easily recognizable brands on the store shelf as we produce for both international corporations as well as smaller, local brands. Our Research and Development is done in-house so we get to witness the whole process from ideation to creation. We support regional trade organizations, source locally when appropriate and help to bring healthy food to people's tables.Plant Manager Department: Operations Status: ExemptEmployee Classification: Regular Full-TimeReports To: Chief Operations OfficerSupervisory Responsibilities: YesJob Summary: The Plant Manager oversees all daily operations of plant production, maintenance, and planning to support our customers and business. Keeps production at maximum capacity while working within financial controls. Ensures all required quality and regulatory standards are met. Develops processes for maximizing safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Hire, train, inspire employees to create unmatched engagement and workplace culture. Essential Functions: SafetyEnsure that all employees are properly trained in safety and that there is a continuous and daily effort to ensure compliance with all safety standardsAlways ensure that there is a clean and organized manufacturing work environmentAudit/Validate all safety procedures are followedQuality and Food SafetyIn coordination with Quality Assurance, ensure implementation and maintenance of a quality and food safety system for the plantEstablish and implement a system of training for all production employees regarding acceptable quality levelsReview customer complaints and corrective actions routinely; ensure quality and food safety systems are working as intendedProductionAchieve desired production goals without compromising safety or qualityMinimize downtime of all equipment through tracking of metrics, establishing root cause, and coordinating with solutions.Minimize setup time and changeovers through proper training and best practice approachesMaximize throughput and machine efficiency by ensuring proper training and setup, coordinating with Maintenance to ensure equipment is always in running order, and continuously evaluating ways of surpassing standardsHuman ResourcesHire, direct and coach direct reports and other key staffEstablish an environment which motivates and engages talent in the plant to achieve desired resultsCreate an environment which supports the ongoing training and development of all staff within the plant organizationFoster a positive work environment through open and ongoing communications and behavior consistent with Company ValuesFinance and PlanningContinuously evaluate 'build plan' and ensure the availability of proper resources to accomplish goalsMinimize the cost of goods soldReview monthly performance; initiate projects and actions to ensure achievement of annual plan and drive continuous improvementKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities: High School Diploma / GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred10+ years progressive experience in food production, maintenance, and warehouse operations.Experience in delivering sustainable continuous process improvement programs through engaging and empowering teams.Understanding of OSHA and manufacturing safety requirements.Knowledge of data analytics and appropriate KPI's for measurement of manufacturing systems.Working knowledge of ISO Management Systems for Safety, Quality and Environmental.Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information with discretion and professionalism.Proven leadership capability in developing managers and other key employees within an operation.Strong business acumen with experience managing an operational P&L and operating budget.Demonstrated ability to build capable, high-performing teams.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to manage and respond to issues when needed for operation.Other Duties as Assigned:This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
