Junior Software Engineer: DevOps
At RFA, customer expectations are at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve the customer experience, were looking for a DevOps engineer who can be responsible for building and qualifying embedded software deliverables by implementing and supporting continuous integration. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in embedded software development and be familiar with automated build tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions and will work with developers and testers to ensure that software development follows established processes.
Objectives of this role
Building and implementing new development tools and infrastructure
Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying them to leadership
Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
Testing and examining code written by others and analyzing results
Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
Working with embedded software engineers and quality engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
Responsibilities
Deploy updates and fixes to the CI infrastructure, and provide support to the users of the infrastructure (other developers and software test)
Build tools to reduce occurrence of errors and improve reliability of system
Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
Perform root cause analysis of errors and resolve technical issues
Develop scripts to automate visualization
Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
Preferred skills and qualifications
Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in computer science, engineering, or relevant field
Understanding of cross-compiler build environments
Proficiency with Git and automated build tools
Knowledge of Automated build systems like Jenkins as well as Artifact and Package management systems
Knowledge of Docker, Groovy, and Npm
Problem-solving attitude
Collaborative team spirit
