Director of Finance
Our client Saginaw Products Corporation dba/CIGNYS is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, detail-oriented individual to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in all aspects of the accounting cycle, including preparation of financial statements, purchasing, budgeting and analysis, and year-end close. Additionally, experience in human resource management and IT functions is preferred. Our ultimate candidate is one who is team-oriented, proactive, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
This will be an in-person position located in Saginaw, MI.
Position Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial activities of the company including management of finance, purchasing, HR, and IT departments
Lead financial staff and be accountable for general accounting, AR, AP, billing, cost accounting, inventory accuracy and risk management
Directs the preparation and quality control of all financial reports, including reports to shareholders, banks, external accounting firm, and government regulatory agencies
Meets regularly with department heads to keep informed and to offer insight and direction and provides internal controls
Responsible for annual business planning and forecasting and analyzes actual vs. planned results to identify opportunities and areas which need focus
Continuously improves the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas of the business by partnering with the managers to provide key financial data, analysis, and insights
Ensure on time and high-quality delivery of basic HR activities including hiring, reviews, payroll, legal protections and benefits
Manage insurance selection/renewal process
Member of senior management team with direct input into strategic planning and responsible for leading major strategic initiatives
Develop, train, and mentor accounting staff and maintain an efficient and effective team
Maintains relationships with external accountants, insurance brokers, bank, IT, support resources, staffing agencies, payroll companies, etc.
Responsible for and processes all system non-conformances, internal audit findings, and corrective actions as assigned
Required Skills:
Experienced and knowledgeable in cost accounting principles and tax laws
Superior attention to detail
Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects
Ability to work closely with management and staff
Strong training and mentoring skills
Extensive understanding of financial trends, financial statistics, and accounting principles
Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
Minimum 10 years’ experience in financial management in a manufacturing environment, Director of Finance or CFO experience preferred
Proven track record of success in similar roles
