AS533 - Housekeeper/Nanny - Upper East Side

Overview: A lovely family of three on the Upper East Side is seeking a full-time housekeeper/nanny/cook to assist with care of their home and their 3.5-year-old son. The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm; the child is in school from 9am-12pm and attends afternoon classes, so the role will involve mostly home-related duties in the morning, and the afternoon will consist of family cooking and childcare. This position will begin in early September. Responsibilities Household cleaning, including deep cleaning, tidying, and sanitizing Family laundry- clothing and linens Family cooking- preparing dinner several times per week and cleaning up afterwards Disposing of trash, opening boxes and deliveries, and breaking down boxes for service area Making beds and changing linens for bedrooms and bathrooms Shopping for groceries and other household supplies Organizing closets, toys, and kitchen shelves and cabinets Communicating with the family about any issues or household needs Dog care, including feeding and taking him for a daily walk Assistance with occasional luncheon or other events- preparation and service Childcare, including assisting with morning, meal, hygiene, and bedtime routines Engaging with the child in games and play Accompanying him to school and other activities Occasionally hosting or accompanying him to playdates Qualifications Experience and comfort working with preschoolers- engaging and willing to get on his level Looking for a long-term commitment; the family would like to find someone to be with the family for many years Proactive and able to prioritize household and childcare duties Meticulous and detail-oriented (the family is very conscious of cleanliness, and requires someone who is willing to sanitize household items regularly) Comfortable working with a very involved work-from-home mother Calm, patient, and warm with children Requirements Long-term experience in previous roles Swimming and driving are NOT required, but would be a bonus Comfortable navigating the Upper East Side with a child Comfortable working with and around a small friendly dog Willing and able to live-in M-F on Long Island during most of the summer- transportation costs will be covered Basic COVID vaccine is required Salary and Benefits $35/hr.
