Overview UCI Health is the clinical enterprise of the University of California, Irvine. This position is for a Staff Pharmacist who performs day-to-day responsibilities of drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing, and provides therapeutic intervention, drug information, and consultation to staff and patients. The role includes maintenance of patient profiles, participation in cardio-pulmonary emergencies, drug therapy monitoring, and drug compounding. The Staff Pharmacist directs technicians, performs inventory control, and actively precepts pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned by the supervisor. This position is a Direct Care Provider as defined in Pharmacy Policy. Responsibilities Perform day-to-day drug distribution, computer drug and IV order processing. Provide therapeutic intervention as needed and offer drug information and consultation to professional staff and patients. Maintain patient profiles and participate in cardio-pulmonary emergencies. Monitor drug therapy and perform drug compounding. Direct technicians and manage inventory control. Precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians, or interns as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications Required: Possession of the legal requirements for the practice of pharmacy as determined by the CA Board of Pharmacy. Required: One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist. Required: Current BLS or ACLS upon hire. Preferred: Pharm.D. is highly desirable. Seniority level: Entry level.
