Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Nursing 4E Stepdown Job Duration: Not specified Shift: Night Mon-Fri, 7:00 PM - 7:15 AM, alternating weekends and holidays Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: One year of acute care nursing experience preferred, except for medical surgical or step-down areas License: Current RN license/registration Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification for applicable areas - Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification for applicable areas Must-Have: - Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Ability to adapt in a high-stress and fast-paced environment Job Description: - Provides direct patient care and collaborates with patients, families, peers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. - Assesses patient needs, plans care, implements, and evaluates medical and nursing regimens. - Demonstrates leadership skills and commitment to professional growth. - Provides respectful care promoting mutual respect, shared decision-making, and informed consent while respecting patient autonomy and dignity. - Utilizes the nursing process to meet the age-specific needs of patients in all aspects of care, including biophysical, psychosocial, education, safety, and discharge planning. - Administers blood and blood products according to policy. - Communicates effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team. - Integrates patient rights and nursing ethics into work practice. - Adheres to infection control standards. - Delegates activities to ancillary staff in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act. - Supports and practices within the Professional Nursing Practice Model. - Participates in performance improvement initiatives and completes competency requirements. - Attends mandatory in-services and staff meetings. - Utilizes cost containment practices. - Assumes Charge Nurse responsibility when necessary. - Performs other related duties as assigned. - Acts as a professional role model with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. - Must be able to move about freely, transport objects up to fifty pounds, and respond to rapidly changing situational needs. - Provides care to a diverse population, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
