As an Expeditor, or Material Handler, you'll be the heartbeat of our operations, ensuring materials and transactions flow smoothly and efficiently throughout the facility. Key Job ElementsMinimum Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive and Verify: Welcome incoming materials and cross-check them against shipping documents.
- Material Transfer: Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and other mobile equipment to move materials to their designated locations.
- Data Entry: Keep our systems updated by entering material transfers into the computer.
- Production Support: Ensure all necessary materials are in the production area before shifts begin.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and orderly storage area.
- Stock Management: Monitor and maintain the levels of consumables and materials.
- Labeling: Properly label all materials.
- Inventory Management: Conduct inventory reconciliation, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Reporting: Provide detailed records and reports for end users and management.
- Cycle Counts: Assist with the cycle count process.
- Transactional Duties: Manage core transactional responsibilities.
- Process Improvement: Drive initiatives to improve processes.
- Other Duties: Be flexible and take on additional tasks as needed.
- LN Systems Administrator: Train employees on the system and manage it effectively.
- Project Leadership: Lead projects aimed at improving inventory control.
- Skill Level I: 1-2 years of experience in materials handling, manufacturing, or logistics.
- Skill Level II: 2-5 years of experience as an Expeditor.
- Equipment Operation: Proficient in operating mobile equipment.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent at keeping things organized.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and details.
- Analytical Skills: Basic ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Tech Savvy: Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Materials Expertise: Deep understanding of end-to-end materials operations.
- Strength: Capable of pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Motion: Constant standing and walking; frequent bending, crouching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching overhead, climbing ladders, and working at various heights.
- Vision/Hearing: Able to work in environments with high noise levels (above 85 decibels).
- Work Environment: Adapt to varied surfaces like concrete floors, gravel, and rail car floors; operate overhead cranes and mobile equipment.
- Teamwork and Independence: Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Safety: Strict adherence to safety policies and the use of all necessary PPE, including protection for hands, head, eyes, ears, and feet.
- Requirement: High School Diploma or GED.
