Bluehawk Consulting is seeking a talented and experienced Hardware Aerospace Project Manager with specialized expertise in development and optimization, particularly in the aerospace industry with a focus on engines or turbo pumps. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and managing projects related to the development, improvement, and optimization of space technologies. This role requires a strong background in project management, as well as in-depth knowledge of aerospace engineering principles, propulsion systems, and optimization techniques.
Responsibilities Project Planning & Execution:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of space projects focused on the development and optimization of propulsion systems, engines, or turbo pumps.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and develop detailed project plans, schedules, & budgets.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, research and development, testing, and manufacturing to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.

Development & Optimization Expertise:
  • Drive the development and optimization of space technologies, including propulsion systems, engines, and turbo pumps, to improve performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Apply advanced engineering principles, analytical techniques, and optimization methodologies to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and validate new technologies and enhancements, and implement solutions to meet project objectives.

Risk Management & Mitigation:
  • Identify potential risks, challenges, and obstacles associated with project development and optimization activities, and develop risk management plans to mitigate potential impacts.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics, and proactively address issues or deviations from planned schedules or objectives to ensure project success.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including internal teams, customers, and external partners.
  • Provide regular updates on project status, milestones, and key performance indicators, and address stakeholder inquiries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.

Aerospace & Engine Expertise:
  • Leverage expertise in aerospace engineering, propulsion systems, and engine technologies to drive innovation and excellence in project development and optimization.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices related to space technologies, propulsion systems, and turbo pump design and optimization.
  • Apply knowledge of aerospace standards, regulations, and safety requirements to ensure compliance and adherence to industry best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in project management, with a focus on development and optimization of space technologies, propulsion systems, engines, or turbo pumps ideal.
  • Strong technical expertise in engineering principles with a focus on optimization and performance improvement.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Previous experience in the aerospace industry, particularly with engines or turbo pumps, is a plus.
Education Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
