Project Engineer PLC Allen-Bradley

The Electrical / Controls Project Engineer will be a member of a multidisciplinary team to modify existing equipment and install new process equipment at the Columbia Fuel Fabrication Facility. The project engineer will be involved with all phases of the project starting with developing a concept, providing estimates, developing installation timelines, designing power and controls, and supporting installation and testing of the equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and help define project specifications and performance requirements for the equipment and system.
  • Understand and help define project modification to DC, single phase AC and three phase AC power systems.
  • Understand and help define project requirements for modifications to existing control systems or installation of new control system hardware to meet project needs.
  • Understand and help define project requirements for instrumentation, servos, and drives.
  • Provide rough order of magnitude estimates for changes and new equipment.
  • Provide changes to Process and Instrumentation Drawings and Loop Sheets.
  • Prepare technical documents for purchase of equipment, installation of equipment, and testing / qualification of equipment.
  • Convey project information to all levels of the organization including technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Electrical Engineering, Masters preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience with relevant work experience post college
  • Proven experience modifying equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred skills: Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers, PLC Codes, Modify/Edit Codes, 480 VAC 3 Phase power distribution, Instrumentation, and project engineering. Experience with Plant expansion and upgrade is highly desirable. Site Acceptance / PHA
