Background As part of HSBC Markets & Securities Services (“MSS”), Securities Services (“SSV”) provides investor services to some of the world's largest asset managers, asset owners, banks and broker dealers. These services connect our clients and their investors to investment opportunities, making Securities Services an essential part of the infrastructure that supports international capital flows. The global SSV team operates in 37 countries and territories, and services thousands of clients around the world. The SSV organisation is entering into an exciting period of transformation with the aim of moving to a platform and solutions business with a fully integrated suite of solutions and a scalable, integrated ecosystem, including client flexibility and end-customer servicing. The Regional Head of Securities Services (Asia Pacific) will own and drive the business agenda, aligning the SSV strategy and ambitions with the wider priorities of the region, enabling delivery of a first class service and outcomes to clients. This role will report functionally to the Global Head of Securities Services, with an entity reporting line to the Head of MSS Asia Pacific, and will be responsible for all facets of the SSV business across the ASP region. The role holder will be the ambassador of the SSV business across countries, responsible for enhancing and elevating the profile of SSV within HSBC and in the external local markets. The role holder will be responsible for leadership of the SSV Country Heads across China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Mauritius, Colombo, Taiwan, Korea and Japan.

This will entail defining and cascading the global strategy for SSv as it pertains to the countries across the region, The role holder will be a seasoned matrix navigator who collaborates, consults, and influences a host of onshore and offshore stakeholders, including MSS and SSV functions such as sales, client management, product, and client change and onboarding. They will be required to constantly engage with functions such as Operations, Technology, COO, CCO, CFO and Strategy & Business Development, to ensure effective execution of the SSV strategy in local markets. The role holder must have proven experience working at Managing Director level with a broad remit, influencing peers in C- level management and managing stakeholders at the most senior levels of the organisation. The individual will be responsible for ensuring best in class operational client servicing from across the broader organisation, appropriate prioritisation to ensure nible and agile delivery from both operations and technology and dealing with escalations to ensure full resolution, in addition to dealing with Regulators. Accountabilities SSV Regional and Country Strategy & Governance In line with the HSBC Group, MSS and Global SSV strategies, develop and maintain the Asia Pacific strategy for SSV, driving a coherent narrative and executable roadmap across Product, Client and Delivery stakeholders and the broader organisation with Technology and operations Identify and reflect the local market intel, market, industry and regulatory developments, general trends and client feedback into the regional and global strategy. Take ownership of the local execution of the strategy for the region, collaborate with key regional and global stakeholders across client management, product and operations and technology to agree the book of work, priorities and execute at pace. Responsible for facilitating navigation of local and regional governance and decision making processes, for strategic project/programmes, to enable effective, efficient, compliant delivery for clients. In line with local market developments / trends and client feedback, support Client Management, Product and Product Solutions to define and agree the Product and Technology Roadmap for the region (this includes both country, specific product and/or accelerating global product roll-out in the country). The roadmap should also factor the new growth opportunities and new client segments as agreed with Sales/Asset Class leads and country stakeholders. Represent and manage SSv priorities for the region I line with global priorities on Operations, technology, risk governance committees Drive excellence across the organisation evidenced by client KPIs, client feedback and outcomes and technology eliverables Market Advocacy and enhancing SSV propositions In collaboration with Client Management and SSV ExCo, formalise the marketing / engagement / market advocacy plans for the year, in line with the client plans owned by GB / MSS / coverage country teams. Develop and maintain relationships with key senior individuals in relevant industry bodies, clients, consultants, competitor organisations, appropriate other third parties such as regulators and market participants. Build strong and constructive relationships with peers in region to enhance profile / understanding of SSV in other businesses (such as GB, MSS, CMB, WPB) to bring more of SSV to clients (existing and prospective) as well as identify new revenue opportunities. Maintain close alignment with Sales and Client Management teams and continuous, ongoing intelligence sharing, to ensure a coherent client experience. Partner with Digital, Data and Innovation teams to ensure SSV plays a prominent role in market advocacy in the digital and digital product space. Partner with local Product leads (including DCC local market leads) to bring HSBC experience and consultancy to market infrastructure change initiatives, including appropriate representation on relevant industry bodies. People, Culture and Local Leadership Provide motivational leadership; own and deliver on SSV people priorities for the region, to include embedding the SSV operating model and ways of working, building capability in digital products, and driving accountability for high quality delivery at pace. Own, drive and influence the people agenda for all SSV staff across the region, collaborating with respective functional lines, HR, regional and country stakeholders as applicable. Be accountable for the people strategy, to ensure the right talent and resources are in place, in line with the SSV location strategy, to achieve the business ambitions. Support relevant people processes in region across Performance Culture, Talent Management and Development, Succession Planning, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Speak-up and other relevant group-wide / SSV led initiatives. Promote and embed priority people initiatives, including (a) resourcing, recruitment and retention of people (b) compensation strategy and levels factoring in local market nuances (c) key roles and succession plans (d) training and staff development. Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications Experience in leading and managing a securities services business or other relevant leadership experience. Experience in all aspects of Business management, including people development, client management, business planning, financials, marketing, and risk management. Strong knowledge and awareness of SSV products, target client segments and linkages into other business lines such as GB / MSS / CMB / WPB Collaborative approach to working in a matrix environment involving Sales, Client Management, Global Products and Global functions. Exceptional relationship management skills, with an ability to think strategically, manage complexity, significant change, and multiple key priorities. Leading and motivating high performing global teams in multiple locations both on and offshore. Influencing and negotiating at Managing Director level within a similar commercial environment, at local, regional and global levels. Results oriented mindset, with ability to inspire trust through credibility evidenced via exceptional communication skills both written and verbal. Financial and accounting acumen. Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risk effectively. The chosen candidate for this role will be required to undergo enhanced vetting.
