Through collaborative practice with members of the care team, is responsible for patient outcomes that meet the high quality of care provided by ThedaCare. I'm always on my toes and never getting bored The support from the team has encouraged me to stay for the last 7 and a half years" - BritneyJob Description:KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Straight Days; 0700-1900Perk about the role:Premium pay.Full time benefits working only 10 days a month (Only for the .7fte roles)Straight shifts.Opportunity to get experience in more departments like Med Surge, Cardiac, Neuro, and Oncology.Roughly 60% of your shifts will be at the Neenah or Appleton hospital.Utilizes the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and specific competencies to assess the physical condition and nursing needs of patients, and develops a plan of care in a collaborative practice with the patient and multi-disciplinary team. Plans for the care needs of the patient in collaboration with the interprofessional team to provide the highest quality of care and clinical outcomes. Demonstrates clinical expertise in the provision of care in the clinical specialty assigned, and performs all functions of the professional clinical nurse (RN), which are age appropriate, developmentally sensitive, and culturally specific. Identifies ways to improve the patient's experience of care, streamline care processes, and lower costs while promoting quality to improve patient, family, and team member satisfaction. Contributes to a professional environment that encourages mentoring, engagement, and development to retain expert clinicians. Provides consultation and maintains positive relationships with physicians and other interprofessional team members, collaborating to problem solve and improve patient care. Demonstrates, anticipates, and proactively manages risk to prevent crises. Performs skillfully in life threatening emergencies, matching demands and resources during crises situationsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) or commitment to obtain within five years of hire.Two years experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital setting.Experience with Float Pool and/or Resource teams in healthcare settings.Current Wisconsin RN or compact nursing licensureAmerican Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of fifty (50) pounds without assistanceJob classification may be exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job dutiesWORK ENVIRONMENT:Frequent exposure to sharp objects and instrumentsOccasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. Occasional high noise level in work environment.Possible exposure to communicable diseases, hazardous materials, and pharmacological agents.Occasional contact with aggressive and or combative patients.Use of computers throughout work day Position requires compliance with department specific competencies.Perk about the role:Premium pay.You will work in the Appleton and Neenah Hospitals 70 percent of the time and select two rural site for the other 30 percent of the time.Full-time benefits working only 12 days a monthStraight shifts.Opportunity to get experience in more departments like Med Surge, Cardiac, Neuro, and Oncology.Schedule: 12 hour shifts.
