Solutions Architect

Lovelace AI was born from the desire to apply state of the art AI and systems engineering to the question of human safety, especially in dangerous conditions such as conflict, disaster response, anti-terrorism and deterrence against AIs designed by adversaries to harm civilians.
How many lives can be saved by taming the information overload, confusion and conflicting priorities experienced by the people responsible for dealing with dangerous situations around the world? We believe the answer is potentially dramatic, and we are determined to create a team with the wisdom, skills, brainpower, thoughtfulness and experience to make this vision real.
Job Summary:
- As a Solutions Architect at Lovelace AI, you will serve as a technical expert and trusted advisor to our sales and product team and clients in the Government and Commercial sectors. You will collaborate closely with our sales and product development teams to understand client needs, craft technical solutions, and ensure successful deployments of our AI products and services.
- Experience with Large-Scale & Matrixed Organization Collaboration: You have a history of successfully collaborating with large organizations, like government agencies or corporations. You understand the complexity and nuances of operating within these organizations, including their decision making processes and bureaucratic challenges.
- A Customer Centric Approach to Solution Design: You have consistently designed and adapted solutions with the end user in mind, ensuring that tools not only meet the technical and security requirements but are also user friendly and tailored to meet our customers needs. Bonus points if you're excited or curious about how to design human and AI interfaces
- Solution Deployment in Complex Environments: You've been involved in deploying technology solutions within large scale infrastructures, and understand the challenges and constraints of these environments.
- Rapid Implementation and Scalability Focused Mindset: You have a track record of implementing solutions quickly and effectively in large organizations, prioritizing rapid deployment and scalability. This includes streamlining the integration process to get tools into users hands as efficiently as possible, while ensuring the solutions can scale to meet the growing needs of an organization.
- Proficiency in Security and Compliance Standards: Your experience includes navigating security and compliance requirements typical of large organizations, especially in the government sector. This can include designing solutions that meet specific security standards (like NIST or FedRAMP) or ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Agility in Fast-Paced Environments: You get excited about the idea of working in a rapidly evolving tech startup, where you have to quickly adapt to challenges or pivot projects based on the development of our product and customer base.
- Technical Expertise: Leverage your deep technical knowledge of our AI solutions to effectively communicate and demonstrate their value to potential clients in both the Government and Commercial sectors.
- Solution Design: Collaborate with the sales team and clients to understand their specific requirements and objectives. Design customized AI solutions that meet client needs and align with our product offerings.
- Product Demonstrations: Conduct compelling product demonstrations and presentations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our AI technology, focusing on how it can address the unique challenges faced by the Department of Defense and Emergency Response organizations.
- Technical Consultation: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, offering technical guidance and expertise throughout the sales cycle. Answer technical questions and provide insights on implementation strategies.
- Proof of Concept (PoC): Coordinate and lead PoC efforts to demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of our AI solutions in real-world scenarios. Work closely with clients to ensure successful PoC outcomes.
- Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with the product development team, providing valuable feedback and insights from client interactions to shape future product enhancements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and best practices, to support sales and client onboarding.
- Training: Deliver training sessions to clients and internal teams on the use and maintenance of our AI solutions.
- Market Insights: Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings, providing recommendations for continuous improvement and innovation.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering).
- Proven experience in a solutions architect and/or sales engineering role.
- In-depth knowledge of AI technologies, including machine learning, computer vision, and natural language processing.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and troubleshooting applications built on cloud platforms such AWS, Azure, or GCP. This includes familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless functions, and cloud-based databases and have experience advising customers on optimal cloud architecture and migration strategies.
- Experience in solution design and the ability to tailor AI solutions to meet specific client needs.
- Proficiency in creating technical documentation and delivering training sessions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a US Citizen.
Benefits:
LovelaceAI offers competitive compensation packages, comprehensive benefits. We provide a supportive and inclusive work environment where your skills and expertise can make a significant impact on the safety and security of our communities.
Lovelace's founding team includes:
Andrew Moore, who has a track record of building impactful AI systems, designing them with human rights impact assessments as a top priority, leading the AI division of one of the world's foremost cloud companies, and actively participating in machine learning and AI research over the past two decades.
Brendan Dunne, a career Special Operations veteran and retired Army officer who has led high performing cross functional teams the past 20 years in the country's premier national mission force. He was most recently in charge of US Special Operations Command's Global Analytics Platform (aka the GAP), one of DoD's leading technology platforms.
Toby Smith, well known in the Pittsburgh Tech community for his engineering leadership and design skills, and who has led many of the most ambitious and complex system infrastructure projects in Google Pittsburgh and NetApp.
Here is a note from Andrew Moore to people who are reading these Job Postings:
"Hi folks, I'm so glad you are potentially interested in Lovelace AI. This area means a lot to me because while I am an AI optimist, I also think that we technologists owe it to a rightly skeptical world to show that modern intelligent systems can actually be useful. Usefulness comes in many guises: from life sciences to education and from transportation to entertainment and many others. For many of us, security and public safety is also very high on that list. That reasoning leads to this conclusion: I'm determined to make sure that the people building Lovelace AI gain a lot from the experience, including the chance to solve fascinating problems in computer science, AI, business development, customer success and product management. I also hope that we all learn from each other in a highly enriching work environment. But my main hope is that we have a shared sense of accomplishment as we see an increasing number of national security and public safety domains made safer through sensible and robust use of advanced computer science."
