The Certified Surgical Technologist will assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures by preparing operating rooms, arranging equipment, and assisting with patient positioning. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of surgical procedures, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills. Responsibilities: Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready. Assist surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating their needs. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety. Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting incision sites, positioning them on the operating table, and covering them with sterile drapes. Handle specimens obtained during surgical procedures and ensure they are properly labeled and sent to the laboratory for analysis. Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and instrumentation to ensure they are in good working condition. Assist in the transportation of patients to and from the operating room and ensure their comfort and safety. Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory guidelines, to ensure compliance and patient safety. Collaborate with other members of the surgical team, including surgeons, nurses, and anesthesiologists, to provide optimal patient care. Requirements: Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from an accredited program. Minimum of 1 of experience working as a Surgical Technologist in a hospital or surgical center setting. Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Additional certifications or specialized training in specific surgical specialties (e.g., orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery). Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. CPR certification.
