MAU is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for our client in Hutchins, TX. As a Human Resources Specialist, you will engage with stakeholders to facilitate daily human resources transactions, including tracking employee records, supporting the recruitment/interview process, managing the new hire onboarding process, contributing to the administration of the reward and benefit systems, and collaborating with the Talent Leader and leadership team to drive the talent strategy and culture within the company.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of HR-related experience, including 1+ year(s) in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Experience with investigations, including accidents and harassment allegations, etc.
  • Experience recruiting and developing a strong and diverse team
General Requirements
  • Understanding of labor legislation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general HR policies, procedures, and practices
  • Ability to lead through change management
  • Ability to build relationships and influence others across multiple operations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Ability to occasionally travel, including overnight trips
Preferred Requirements
  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience, including 3+ years in a distribution or manufacturing environment
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Working knowledge of logistics, warehousing, IT systems, HRIS systems, and payroll administration
  • Working knowledge of innovation related to supply chain
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices (OSHA, etc.) for all functions performed in a distribution facility
  • Excellent knowledge of employment law and other governmental requirements related to human resources
  • Demonstrated business acumen of HR KPIs, using data to drive continuous improvement
  • Excellent business communication and presentation skills
  • Food service distribution experience
Essential Functions
  • Contribute to the overall functioning of the reward and benefit systems to help meet broader organizational goals
  • Oversee records management within the HR system for all staff in the facility, including compiling and analyzing data for key performance indicators and providing insights to the Talent Leader
  • Drive employee engagement across all departments, including processing employee queries and providing employee relations support promptly and in a way that reflects the culture
  • Advise and support team leaders on various topics, including employment law and government relations, performance management, team morale, and multiple policies (i.e., FMLA, ADA, workers' compensation, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of market-driven compensation trends in the industry
  • Coordinate and facilitate training sessions and seminars; facilitate training when necessary
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the talent team to ensure a workforce that can meet the demands of the distribution center
  • Assist with recruiting by scheduling and conducting interviews, monitoring candidate flow, etc.
  • Oversee pre-employment screening, including scheduling drug tests and DOT physicals, running background checks, sending welcome email correspondence, drafting adverse action letters, etc.
  • Assist employees with general questions
  • Oversee New Hire Orientation - I9, assisting new hire with workday new hire tasks, requests for badges, etc.
  • Manage Employee File Maintenance (Personnel and Driver Qualification Documents)
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
