Summary:

The Sr. Network Engineer position involves designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing our corporate local and wide area networks, as well as the customer facing DMZ to ensure maximum uptime for users. The qualified candidate should be highly experienced with Cisco, Meraki, F5, and Check Point hardware, have a thorough understanding of TCP/IP protocols, and have a strong background with hands-on experience in designing network configurations, documenting and managing the installation of a new network, and maintaining and upgrading existing systems as necessary.

Location: Smyrna (Near Battery Stadium)

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements:

Must be highly experienced in all areas of routing, switching, and firewall configuration.

Must have strong working knowledge and experience with BGP and EIRGP routing protocols, configuring QoS, VPCs, ACLs, VLANs, VPNs, and wireless networks.

Experienced with using network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM), ExtraHop, Cisco's NetFlow protocol, and others to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Must be experienced with packet capture tools, such as Wireshark, and be able to decode and understand individual TCP/IP conversations and packets.

Experience with moves, adds, and changes within Cisco's UCCM VoIP system preferred but not required.

Must interact with internal and external customers to resolve basic to intermediate network issues using our ServiceNow trouble ticket system. You must communicate with internal and external customers in a professional, timely manner.

Will be responsible for training and mentoring the network engineers on the team junior to the position.

This position involves weekends and after-hours work for maintenance on an as needed basis as well as a rotating on-call schedule.

You must be able to travel to our Distribution Centers and customers across the US for installations and support on an as needed basis. All travel expenses are paid for by the employee and then the employee is reimbursed by the company.

Computer Skills:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, Project, and Windows 10 Professional. Working knowledge of the Linux operating system is preferred.

Education/Experience:

B.S. Computer Science degree preferred, or 5 or more years related experience and/or 2 years or more tenure as Network Engineer III with S.P. Richards Co.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Training, Licenses, Registrations:

Current State of Georgia driver's license and a valid passport.

Cisco CCNA and/or CCNP certifications preferred.

Cisco CUCM experience and/or certification preferred.

Advanced Checkpoint training and/or certification preferred.
