OUR CLIENT
Our client is a rapidly growing middle market accounting and advisory firm (Top 100) with a forward-thinking approach. They offer a comprehensive suite of services, which includes tax and audit, wealth management, investment banking, transaction advisory services, and various other advisory services to their clients. The firm's mission is to create the next generation of accounting and advisory services by incorporating automation and artificial intelligence capabilities into their service offerings. Your role will be crucial in bringing this mission to reality.
THE ROLE
The Strategic Operations Project Manager is a newly created position that will play a pivotal role in helping to drive profitability and operational excellence. You will be responsible for ensuring our client remains at the forefront of the professional services industry by streamlining operations and processes, overseeing firmwide cross-functional projects, facilitating seamless integrations, and leveraging automation and artificial intelligence to bolster service offerings and operational capabilities. This role reports directly to the M&A Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In your first 30 days:

Manage Value Creation Projects:
  • Begin to project manage the execution of top-priority value creation plans, ensuring on-time delivery within the first year. This includes developing project timelines, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, managing project risks, and achieving project goals as per the strategic vision of the firm.
Contribute to the design and implementation of process improvements and documents:
  • Collaborate across Tax, A&A, Shared Services, and functional departments in process improvements. Learn the current Sax way and collaborate with Department leads to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives, many of which have already begun. Add to and maintain the documented process library.
Within your first 90 days:

Establish and Monitor Success Metrics
  • Design and implement a system for tracking and reporting on KPIs relevant to the firm's strategic objectives per department. This involves developing a comprehensive dashboard that will feed into PowerBI and provide real-time insights into organizational performance.
Facilitate M&A Integration Efforts:
  • Begin to lead the integration of acquired entities or assets, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with the firm's strategic goals. This includes planning integration processes, setting integration objectives, and monitoring progress towards achieving these objectives.

Demonstrated Consulting or Strategic Operational Impact:
  • Successfully apply 4-7 years of consulting, operations, or corporate strategy experience to lead and implement high-impact projects that enhance revenue, increase efficiency, and drive cost savings. This involves identifying opportunities, proposing solutions, and managing initiatives that significantly improve operational outcomes.
Strategic Thinking and Planning:
  • The ability to see the big picture and long-term vision of the firm is critical. This includes assessing current states, envisioning future possibilities, setting strategic directions, and developing actionable plans that align with the company's overall objectives.
Project Management and Execution Excellence:
  • Strong project management skills and a proven capability to manage and deliver multiple projects simultaneously within demanding timeframes. This includes prioritizing tasks, allocating resources efficiently, and adapting to changing priorities to ensure all projects meet their objectives and deadlines.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities:
  • The capacity to analyze complex data, identify trends and insights, and translate them into actionable initiatives is crucial. This also involves creative problem-solving skills to navigate challenges and implement solutions that drive value creation.
Leadership and Change Management:
  • Effective leadership skills to inspire, motivate, and guide teams through change initiatives are key. This includes managing resistance, communicating vision, and driving the adoption of new processes and strategies to achieve organizational objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with a range of stakeholders, from CEO to staff, is essential. This includes building relationships, influencing decision-making, and ensuring alignment and collaboration across the organization.
