Team Introduction:

As a Vulnerability Remediation Specialist, you will be an integral part of our cybersecurity team. This team is dedicated to safeguarding our organization's assets and ensuring the integrity of our infrastructure and networks. You will work closely with system administrators, network engineers, and software developers to identify, prioritize, and remediate vulnerabilities across our systems.

This role will require you to work 3 days onsite per week in Los Angeles.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive the remediation of key prioritized vulnerabilities with the infrastructure and network teams through change management and remediation processes.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, network engineers, and software developers to develop and implement remediation plans to address identified vulnerabilities promptly.
  • Provide executive reporting on the progress of vulnerability remediation efforts, offering regular updates to stakeholders and management regarding the status of outstanding vulnerabilities and risk reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze and prioritize vulnerability scan results based on severity, exploitability, and potential impact on the organization’s assets and operations, as directed by senior staff.
  • Stay informed about emerging threats, security vulnerabilities, and best practices in vulnerability management. Continuously improve processes and tools to enhance the organization’s overall security posture.
  • Join our team to play a critical role in protecting our organization from cybersecurity threats and ensuring the resilience of our systems and networks.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Proven track record of successfully driving the remediation of vulnerabilities in complex IT environments, including work with IT and system owners to execute remediation activities or identify mitigation approaches.
  • Experience with vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable, Rapid7, or similar products.
  • Familiarity with common network and application vulnerabilities and their remediation strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk posed by vulnerabilities in the context of the organization’s specific characteristics and guide prioritization of remediation appropriately.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at multiple levels of seniority.
  • Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government is a plus.
