We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Senior Substation Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary: As a High Voltage Senior Substation Engineer - PE, you will play a key role in the design, analysis, and maintenance of high-voltage substations. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of substation projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications. Your expertise in high-voltage systems, substation design, and project management will be critical in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our substation network.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and engineering activities for high-voltage substation projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations. Conduct thorough analysis of substation parameters, such as sag, tension, structure selection, and clearances, to optimize the performance and reliability of the system. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including structural engineers, civil engineers, and project managers to develop comprehensive substation designs and construction plans. Prepare technical specifications, feasibility studies, and cost estimates for substation projects. Oversee the preparation of detailed engineering drawings, including plan and profile layouts, assembly drawings, and foundation designs. Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety protocols. Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and project teams throughout the project lifecycle. Perform advanced calculations and simulations using software tools to analyze substation behavior, voltage drop, thermal ratings, and other critical parameters. Review and evaluate contractor proposals, bid documents, and construction drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with regulatory agencies, consultants, and stakeholders to obtain necessary permits and approvals for transmission line projects. Stay updated with the latest advancements in high-voltage substation technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes, and apply them to improve system performance and efficiency. Support troubleshooting efforts and provide technical assistance for substation failures or outages. Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. Minimum of 8 years of experience in high-voltage substation engineering, with a focus on design, analysis, and project management. In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to high-voltage substation, such as IEEE, NESC, and FERC. Proficiency in using engineering software tools for transmission line design and analysis, such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and CYMCAP. Strong project management skills with a demonstrated ability to successfully lead and complete complex engineering projects within budget and schedule constraints. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical data, conduct simulations, and make informed decisions. Proven experience in working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and coordinating with external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences. Ability to travel to project sites and conduct field inspections as required.
