Position Title: Clerk

Department or Units: School or Department Assignment

Reports To: Designated Supervisor

Supervises: None

Job Summary: Performs broad clerical duties within a general area/office. Works independently and may initiate letters or reports.

Typical Duties:

Performs the usual clerical and accounting routines and practices to assist in an efficient office; or to support on accounting systems; e.g., typing, routine computation, data verification and data entry.
  1. Maintains regular filing system and processes records and incoming correspondence, as requested.
  2. Maintains and compiles routine office reports.
  3. Operates office equipment, such as copy machines, stamp machine, and microfilm.
  4. Provides information to various personnel, outside agencies, and the community when requested.
  5. Receives, processes, and distributes the mail.
  6. Schedules and arranges appointments as requested.
  7. Performs bookkeeping takes, such as payroll associated with the specific position.
  8. Orders and maintains office equipment and supplies as necessary.
  9. In the presence of students, displays personal conduct which sets an example for students to emulate.
11. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements:

1 . High school diploma or equivalency.
  1. Ability to use basic office procedures and equipment.
  2. Clerical experience.
