The role involves overseeing ongoing sales training and robust onboarding programs. Your primary objective will be to develop and implement comprehensive training programs to enhance the sales skills and product knowledge of our sales representatives, equipping them to exceed sales targets and deliver outstanding customer experiences.

* 100% onsite position based in our Shelton, CT office. *

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and deliver training programs focusing on sales techniques, solution selling, product knowledge, and customer engagement.
  • Conduct training needs assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Create, write, and update training materials, including presentations, handouts, online resources, and assessments.
  • Deliver training both in-person and remotely, using various instructional techniques such as group discussions, role-playing, and e-learning platforms.
  • Ability to adapt training techniques to different learning styles and environments.
  • Track training progress, measure employee performance, and deliver reports to managers. Familiarity with a Learning Management System (LMS) is a plus.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to new hires, including both positive reinforcement and constructive criticism.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and managers to ensure alignment in messaging and knowledge transfer.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, sales methodologies, and product knowledge.
  • Travel to different sales territories as needed to conduct on-site training and provide support.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or related field; equivalent work experience considered.
  • 2-3 years proven experience as a Sales Trainer, preferably within the education or educational products industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies, techniques, and solution selling.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in instructional design and developing training materials.
  • Proficiency in e-learning platforms, CRM systems (especially Salesforce.com), and multimedia tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and metrics to identify training opportunities and improvements.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Experience in conducting virtual training sessions using platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.
