Job Description

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for a variety of duties and responsibilities within the company's Controlling department. They will assist with oversight of all aspects of the general ledger and financial reporting. This is an onsite position in Tigard, OR with flexibility after an introductory period.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Act as a business processes subject matter expert related to key accounting processes (including GL accounts and transaction flow).
  • Drive process improvement and efficiency in daily and monthly accounting activities.
  • Assist in creating and updating accounting policies in line with US GAAP.
  • Assist in implementing, maintaining, and improving internal controls over financial reporting, in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Prepare GL account reconciliations and drive resolution on any variances.
  • Prepare and record daily and monthly journal entries in the company's ERP system.
  • Analyze account balances, identify trends, and recommend actions.
  • Prepare ad hoc financial reporting requests, other analyses, and special projects, as needed.
  • Support external audit and tax preparation.
  • Coach and mentor junior team members
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting work experience.
    • At least 2 years of experience in public accounting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls (SOX) and technical accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, communicate, and resolve accounting issues, risks, and opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • Experience with Sage Intacct, Oracle, or similar ERP system preferred.
  • Demonstrably excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail

About the Team

Fanatics Collectibles is a leading licensor, producer, designer, and seller of physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets for entertainment and sports properties globally, as well as a manufacturer of physical and digital trading cards. It has secured exclusive licensing arrangements with major national professional sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL and the NBA, and related players associations, to produce physical and digital trading cards and other collectibles.

Fanatics Collectibles also has partnerships with a number of individual international sports teams and leagues, as well as owners of other entertainment properties granting similar exclusive rights. Fanatics Collectibles recently announced Fanatics Live, expected to launch later in 2023, which will focus on transforming the digital shopping experience through personality-driven content and entertainment.
