In this role as a Manufacturing Engineer, you will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and will work independently and as part of a team to design processes and systems used in manufacturing. As a member of the Battery Electric New Product team, you will need to have a growth mindset, promote continuous improvement, and help build a defect-free culture. We have a fabulous team that does some of the most exciting work at Caterpillar, and we can't wait for you to join the teamWhat you will do: Analyze requirements and make recommendations for facility systems, processes, training, equipment needs, and engineering product designsComplete both specialized and broad-based assignments / projects which may require collaboration and integration with other functionsEvaluate projects and prepare feasibility studies to define desired results, assess value proposition and determine project plans Analyze, provide specifications and acquire new or replacement equipment Perform capital forecasting correlation and reporting as it relates to new product introduction, product capacity increases, equipment replacement and continuous process improvementAnalyze the New Product's impact to the current Value Stream metricsIdentify design solutions to address known Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost opportunities on the current productImprove space utilization in manufacturing by driving RIOP Manufacturing strategies Develop and implement assembly processes in line with Caterpillar standard processesTop Candidates will also have:The ability to travel 10% Experience assembling Mining and Quarry TrucksBachelor's DegreeAbility to work with a diverse group of employees and customersThorough knowledge of manufacturing conceptsExcellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skillsExperience working in Teamcenter, MES-A and CAPP+What Skills You Will Have:Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and purchase them.Level Working Knowledge: •Performs safety considerations for a specific type of manufacturing equipment.•Participates in setting up new machines and testing according to manufacturer's specifications.•Uses standard diagnostic tools and techniques; resolves common problems.•Checks machine performance and equipment safeguards; reports standards violations.Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.Level Extensive Experience: •Advises others using industry experience and benchmarks for methodology effectiveness.•Develops best practices documentation for all major activities and tasks.•Trains others on all major tasks and considerations for the full manufacturing process.•Participates in measuring and monitoring new processes and technologies.•Selects and optimizes specific methodologies for specific products.•Evaluates benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of alternative processes and technologies.Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.Level Extensive Experience: •Consults on the use of new tools and techniques for safety protection.•Performs safety inspections to assure compliance with OSHA requirements.•Designs and implements emergency response processes and procedures.•Promotes workplace safety among supervisors and workers;
