JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION IS 100% REMOTE. CONTRACT ONLY. At our Enterprise Vulnerability Management program, we are committed to raise the bar on security and stay one step ahead of adversaries through innovation, automation, building strong partnerships across the business and incubating top talent. As the Lead Information Security Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to protect Fifth Third's systems and information by identifying and mitigating security risks, prioritizing actions based on intelligence-driven processes, and proactively responding to emerging threats.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Act as a subject matter expert in vulnerability management, supporting the EVM program through the identification, prioritization, and mitigation of vulnerabilities. • Assume responsibility for the Enterprise scanning and reporting tools, ensuring optimal performance and configuration of appliances, scan policies, agents, and authentication. • Harness your creativity and problem-solving skills to develop and deploy automated solutions that streamline processes and enhance overall efficiency. • Demonstrate your troubleshooting expertise by resolving operational challenges to maintain high standard for comprehensive scan coverage and vulnerability data completeness and accuracy. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate the timely remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, with a strong focus on effectiveness and risk management. • Utilize your in-depth knowledge to conduct policy compliance scans in alignment with industry-leading security standards such as NIST, CIS, DISA, and CSA, encompassing servers, endpoints, and cloud environments. • Contribute actively to the development and maintenance of standards, procedures, and guidelines that ensure the safeguarding of the Bank's operational information security within the Information Security operations. MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Vulnerability management and administration of enterprise security tools, preferably Qualys. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, Groovy, Neo4j. • Comprehensive understanding of various operating systems, cloud infrastructure, and networking. • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to present to senior management, technical resources, and stakeholders at various business levels. • Strong understanding of security principles, risk assessment, CVSS, and the ability to prioritize vulnerabilities effectively. • Thorough knowledge of industry standards for secure configuration and best practices, including NIST, CIS, DISA, and CSA. • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Preferred certifications include CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, GIAC, and AWS, aligned with industry standards.
