Job Description
The Director IT is a member of the Information Services senior leadership team and is responsible for the management of IS teams who coordinate the development, implementation and support for all clinical, financial, integration and specialty application technologies approved for use across the organization. Works to strategically partner with multiple departments in developing application strategies, implementation timelines and budgets. This position oversees all application transition using current standard change management methodologies and also ensures deliverables are on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

The Director IT responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Will lead comprehensive Enterprise design, development, and implementation of Epic and related systems

Will be responsible for supporting client(s) in leveraging their use of Epic from both Clinical and Operational perspective to meet strategic imperatives

Leverage deep EMR Expertise and knowledge to act as a subject matter expert to clients and further engage and guide junior team members

Understand current technology and Epic trends in the Healthcare segment

Strategically partners with multiple departments to assist with the evaluation proposed application technologies

Coordinates requests for application technologies with the appropriate governance committees

Directly manages teams responsible for the development, implementation and support of application technologies, strategies, timelines and budgets

Manages application transition services including application upgrades, and patches using approved methodologies

Oversees all application implementation including clinical, financial/business, patient management, eHealth, and infrastructure applications

Ensures that all projects are managed to established methodologies, time lines and budgets, and monitors and reports results to INTEGRIS management

Oversees all application upgrades and enhancement projects, ensures projects are managed to established methodologies, time lines and budgets

Ensures department staff are managed effectively, including hiring, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed

Leverages established Information Services business management methodologies (ITIL) to support effective IS operations including incident, problem, change and release management

Responsible for the development and management of an effective tiered application management support structure to support business and clinical operations

Responsible for the development of reports that reflect application services performance and availability

Responsible for the coordination and alignment of application technologies with the annual IS budget development and management process

Qualifications

Bachelors degree Computer Science, Business or Healthcare related field combined with a minimum of 5 years in healthcare Information Services management OR 10 years of experience in the field of healthcare information technology

Masters degree preferred

5 years Epic user experience to enhance healthcare clinical, operational, and financial outcomes

Understanding of ITIL service methodologies

Clinical background/license preferred

Require a certification in an Epic Application within 12 months of hire
