Note: This position is for our subsidiary company, Yamaha Jet Boat Manufacturing, located in Vonore, TN. The ideal candidate should live in the area or be willing to relocate. General Description of Major Tasks of Position It is the responsibility of this position to plan activities relative to new product launch. Provide leadership, support & guidance to quality engineers, and will have the responsibility for training and development of the members within the group. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Assists with creation & execution of quality planning documents & plans. * Participates in design review meetings and assures APQP requirements are in line with customer requirements & Standards. * Holds regular APQP status review meetings to assure activities remain on time with development schedules. * Assures deliverables meet standards for phase gates, and presents new model maturity status at phase gate meetings. * Participate in PFMEA, assist with control plan creation/maintenance. * Supports other Quality team members as needed for projects. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Educational and Work Qualifications * Position requires a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (preferably Quality, Mechanical or Manufacturing) * Five years quality engineering experience in a design & manufacturing environment preferred. * Two years supervisory experience. * Excellent interpersonal and communications & leadership skills with applied experience working in a cross functional team environment. * Be able to motivate team members, manage multiple projects, and lead team to success. * Must have experience working in with development phase gate system. * Working experience with APQP activities, proficiency with spreadsheets, database analysis, metrology, print reading, GD&T statistical analysis. * Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business correspondence, technical/product information, policies/procedures and government regulations. * Demonstrated application of structured problem-solving techniques utilizing quality tools. * Ability to complete written forms, write routine complex procedures, reports and correspondence. * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions at all organizational levels. * ASQ CQE or higher preferred. Environmental and Working Conditions Work involves walking, standing, sitting, reaching, etc. Requires near vision, hearing and speaking.
