Position Summary/Purpose of Position: The Budget Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the financial planning and budgeting activities of the Applied Research Laboratory for Intelligence and Security (ARLIS). In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Post-Award Finance, the Budget Analyst will be responsible for developing an innovative and dynamic financial model to advance the strategic goals of the lab. Experience: Five (5) years of experience building complex financial models and conducting budget analysis, preferably at a large professional accounting firm. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, and budgeting software. Ability to build complex financial models to inform budgeting and forecasting decisions. Experience using Tableau or similar data visualization tools to create informative and interactive reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant financial tools. Strong ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Applicants must be able to obtain a top-secret security clearance. If selected, you must meet the requirements for access to classified information. You will be subject to a government security clearance investigation that includes criminal and credit history checks and verification of U.S. citizenship, birth, education, employment, and military history. Preferences: Previous budget and financial model development experience at a large accounting or consulting firm is strongly preferred. Master’s degree or advanced certification, such as CPA. Knowledge of university budgeting processes and/or federal contract management. Additional Information: The salary range commensurate with experience is $88,800 to $111,000.
