Our client is looking to hire a senior accountant to be a part of their growing team in McConnelsville Ohio. Our client is a world leader in the manufacturing of different engine and automotive components, with the facility in McConnelsville specializing in Diesel manufacturing along with oil and gas.

The senior accountant role will actively support site management regarding all controlling, finance, and accounting topics, and the management of the business in general with day to day operations.

Successful candidates will have verifiable experience with cost accounting, inventory control, capital expenditure management, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, and lean manufacturing concepts.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor"s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Excellent computer skills as well as strong communication, technical writing, analytical, and presentation skills are a must.
- Knowledge and experience in cost accounting, inventory control, capital expenditure management, budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, and lean manufacturing concepts.
- Experience in a Manufacturing environment (preferred)

Responsibilities:

- Site management regarding all controlling, finance, and accounting topics, and the management of the business in general with day to day operations.
- Internal business consultant: group-wide analyses, identification of potentials for optimization, recommendation of improvements measures and active involvement in execution of measures
- Management reporting on unit and site level with analysis and interpretation monthly/quarterly/annually standard reports, and special reports
- Operative planning on unit and site level with preparation, interpretation and communication of aggregated plans (budgets, forecasts, scenarios and contingency plans) - analytical and tool support of all staff during planning process
- Cost accounting
- Cost (variance) analysis
- Investment planning, calculation & monitoring
- Management of site-specific projects
- Preparation, presentation, and discussion of all (work) results with site management team and at other hierarchy levels
- Safeguard the adherence of all site staff to group-wide controlling and finance policies and practice.
- Support of Group Controller and VP Controlling in definition and implementation of controlling standards and the further development of controlling tools
- Supervise employees who work under the controller in preparing financial reports and budgets
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system of controls over accounting transactions
