Reports To: Sous Chef,Executive Chef

Works With: Prep Cooks, Stewards, Bakers, Service Captains, Servers, Bartenders

Supervises: No supervisory duties are included in this position.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED. Successful completion of culinary coursework preferred.
  • Minimum two years of experience in back-of-house operations, specifically food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Some level of experience/familiarity with front-of-house operations. This role will require you to speak to customers and members of the service team.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations:
  • Knowledge of key culinary fundamentals.
  • Prepares menu items as needed for member or guest service.
  • Demonstrates high personal standards of cleanliness and safety.
  • Follows all state and local health and food safety regulations.
  • Follows all safety and health procedures for operating and cleaning kitchen machinery.
Job Summary:

Flint Hills National Golf Club is seeking a part-time Lodge Cook to work in our on-property lodges (overnight accommodations). We have several on-property lodges, each equipped with full kitchens that allow us to serve guests in a unique and intimate "Chef's table" setting. Candidates for this position must be able to work afternoon/evening shifts, generally beginning between 12:00 - 2:00 PM and concluding between 8:00 - 10:00 PM. This is a part-time, afternoon/evening position ONLY (no day shifts available).

The Lodge Cook will be responsible for preparing a variety of specialties upon the direction of the Sous Chef and Executive Chef and maintaining kitchen standards related to food quality, portion control, and customer service. This is a great opportunity for the successful candidate to become part of a dynamic, experienced team ("a well-oiled machine") that delivers consistently excellent culinary experiences to our members and guests
