We are seeking workers interested in learning Prototype Press Operations. THIS IS A LEARN ON FIRST SHIFT MOVE TO SECOND SHIFT OPPORTUNITY. Ideal candidates will have a strong work ethic, an excellent understanding of why details are important, interest in learning a CRAFT, and a passion for hands-on experience that will lead to a CAREER.

Quality Metalcraft (QMC) and Experi-Metal Inc (EMI) have led innovative structural solutions for the mobility industry for over 65 years. Joining forces, QMC-EMI takes products from Prototype to Production, including the parts that could be used in the next airplane you take or the next car you buy.

At our location in Sterling Heights, you can work products that are in the development phase, build and fabricate transportation and mobility solutions, or support our Aerospace Team by producing parts that will end up in outer space.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to commit to on-site and on-time attendance
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Experience with basic stamping / press operations / metal forming and fabrication equipment a plus, but not required
  • Willingness to learn and take direction.
You will learn:
  • Operation of metal forming and stamping equipment
  • Grinding, filing, and sanding parts to finished dimensions.
  • Blueprint reading and / or schematics interpretation
  • How to perform quality checks on finished products
  • Part lay out, measuring, and marking dimensions and reference lines using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers.
  • Trimming, filing, grinding, de-burring, buffing, or smoothing surfaces, seams, or joints, using hand tools or portable power tools.
