Our Whatcom County Construction client is growing and looking for a new Senior Accountant

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop and monitor budgets, providing financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Cost Management: Oversee project cost accounting, analyze variances, and implement effective cost control measures.

Audit and Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Cash Flow Management: Monitor and forecast cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize liquidity.

Tax Compliance: Work closely with tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns.

Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business growth.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

Supervision and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff, supporting their professional development.

Ad hoc Projects: Undertake special projects and analyses as assigned by the CFO or senior management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.

4+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with a focus on construction industry accounting.

In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently and collaboratively.

Compensation:

75k-90k
