As R&D Director Cells, you will lead and oversee the processes from mixing and coating to drying, notching, assembly, welding and finally formation. Your scope of formats will currently be pouch cells with various sizes from 1 to 30 Ah and prismatic cells in the various formats we work with (BEV2, PHEV2 and other custom formats). You will direct the teams screening components in pouch cells at our research center and play a crucial role in developing and optimizing our processes for our upscaled activities on our prismatic development line. Reporting to the Chief Science Officer your leadership will be instrumental in improving battery performance through innovative cell design, and driving research initiatives to enhance the durability and energy density of our batteries. As R&D Director Cells, you'll be in a key position, where your expertise and vision will be instrumental in advancing our strategy to new levels of success. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and optimization of successful R&D findings into scalable battery cell manufacturing processes. Defining the roadmap for next-generation factories and working closely with teams and leadership to ensure alignment with internal and market needs Coaching, supporting, and recruiting engineers and scientists, emphasizing professional growth and diversity within the team. Drive research initiatives to improve battery performance, durability, and energy density through innovative cell design and materials selection. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cell research into battery development projects. Ensuring deliverables and timelines are met for various innovations in battery processing steps. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance cell manufacturing capabilities. Provide strategic direction and guidance on cell research priorities and resource allocation. Stay abreast of industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements relevant to battery technology and cell manufacturing. Cell Assembly Process Engineer

Degree or equivalent working experience in Engineering or a related field. Proven track record of leadership in process design and/or equipment engineering within a battery manufacturing-related field. Extensive experience in developing and optimizing battery cell manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of electrochemical principles, battery materials, and cell design considerations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members towards achieving shared goals.
